How the Brook Trust Works

The Trust does not accept or consider unsolicited funding applications. We will only consider funding applications which have been invited by the Trust.

We will consider initial enquiries, which must be made by e-mail to info@brooktrust.org.

Before making an enquiry a charity should carefully consider the grant-making policy and ensure that its activities contribute to the priorities we are funding. Initial e-mail enquiries must be BRIEF, DIRECT, and CONCISE. They must state the level of funding being sought and clearly demonstrate how the applicant’s activities will contribute to the Brook Trust’s core funding objectives.

Please note that the Trust will NOT fund animal welfare, organisations or projects which in the Trustees' opinion are exclusively or mainly concerned with the promotion of religion, or medical research.

The Trust will consider valid enquiries and may invite the charity to make a funding application, in which case we will specify the form and content of such application.

The Trustees meet to decide grant awards at least four times per year.

We will inform any applicant whether or not they have been successful, but we are unable to provide pre-application guidance or provide post-application analysis of unsuccessful bids. The Brook Trust operates with minimal overheads and costs in order to be able to channel maximum resources directly to the programmes we support. In all cases the decision of the Trustees will be final.

Organisations based in Kent may make unsolicited applications for a grant of £500 to £5,000 from the Brook Trust Fund for Kent. ALL applications for such grants MUST be made via the Kent Community Foundation.
